Trash Collection Guidelines & Schedule

Westwood Estates is outside of the city limits making us responsible for our own trash pick-up. Like most subdivisions on the North Shore, in order to keep the heavy machinery traffic down, as of April 1, 2006, the WEPOA Board has instituted a consolidated trash collection procedure. Trash pick-up is now included in your dues.

PRESENT PROVIDER: Premier Waste, Jim Loup, owner - (985) 674-1473

PICK-UP DAYS: ÊMondays & Thursdays

GUIDELINES:
¥ Please have your garbage out on curb BY 7AM (or the night before pick-up) and your trash should be picked up before the end of the day. Most of us are used to large garbage operations that have your garbage picked-up by mid-day every trash day, but this is a smaller company so please be patient. YOUR GARBAGE WILL BE PICKED UP BEFORE THE END OF THE ASSIGNED DAYS. If a holiday falls on one of these days, your garbage will be picked up the following day.

¥ You must provide your own garbage can.

¥ All garbage must be bagged. This is especially imperative for GRASS CLIPPINGS, NEWSPAPERS & OTHER LIGHT, LOOSE DEBRIS that could fly out of truck and possibly create a hazard on our roadways while in transit to dump.

¥ Tree limbs & branches are acceptable but must be shorter than 4 feet long.

¥ As soon as the facilities have recovered from Katrina, recycle pick-up will resume. Although you may put a recycle bin on your curb & it's emptied, at this time there is actually no recycling being done as the facilities sustained heavy damage from the storm.

¥ Special pick ups will be provided on an individual basis. Please call Jim to arrange.

¥ If you have any issues or complaints please be sure you email info@wepoa.org as we are keeping track of your complaints & the frequency of your complaints to verify that this vendor is providing the service we have agreed upon. As of the May '06 board meeting, complaints are down. We expected an adjustment period, but all appears to be falling better into place.
